Scar Revision Photos - Case #2709
Before
This young man sustained a severe electrical injury and almost lost his life. The burn was the most severe kind, involving all the layers of the skin and even the underlying fat, cartilage and muscle.
After
After life saving procedures were completed, reconstructive procedures were started. The scars on his face were limiting his ability to open his mouth, turn his head, itchy, painful, pulling on his lower eyelid and disfiguring.
One year after his tissue expansion and grafting procedures, most of the hypertrophic scars on his face were excised. The base of his nose was reconstructed. He had better lip motion. He was able to close his eyes.
Even years later, he still suffers from the impact of his electrical injury and scar contracture. Even after multiple physical therapy sessions, he could not raise his left arm due to the scar contracture is his axilla = armpit. He needed a significant scar revision, reconstructive plastic surgery surgical procedure to allow him to raise his arm.
He flew from Delaware to San Francisco to have his plastic surgery performed by DR. Michael Kulick. Nine months after a two-stageplastic surgery procedure, he can now raise his left arm up.
