This woman in her 20’s had a previous rhinoplasty by another doctor. She was unhappy with the residual wide nasal tip, irregularities of the dorsum of her nose, the “scooped look” when viewed from the side and the hanging columella (the area at the bottom of her nose). Revision nasal surgery is more difficult than a primary or initial rhinoplasty as the normal anatomy has been altered by the first surgery. It often takes longer to perform and costs more.

Because her skin was thick, she required cartilage grafts applied as well as reducing extra bone and cartilage from the “full” areas. Her nasal tip cartilages needed to be brought closer together.

This woman wanted to increase the size of her upper lip. She did not want “big” lips but felt that her lips could be larger. Because she has a relatively large space from the bottom of her nose to the upper boarder of her lip, she is an ideal candidate for an upper lip advancement and augmentation. Just “filling” her lips would not provide her with her pre-operative wish. She also did not like the sun-damaged appearance of her skin. During her recovery from her lip surgery, she underwent IPL treatments of her skin to improve the color and texture.
6 months after receiving upper lip advancement and lip augmentation, she has a natural looking increase in the size of her lips. The incisions for her lip augmentation are well hidden at the corners of her lips and at the base of her nose. She also has an improvement in her skin color and texture as a result of her IPL treatments.
